Troy Price Obituary

Troy Price, 63, of Danville, Illinois, born September 14, 1962, passed away on March 16, 2026, after battling throat cancer.

Troy was one of six children born to Gene and Shirley Price in Danville, Illinois. In his younger years he worked as a welder at FreightCar America. Later in life, he owned and operated his own lawnmower repair business, something he had a natural talent for and truly enjoyed. If something had a small engine, chances were Troy could figure out how to fix it.

Troy especially loved fishing and was known by those close to him to be very good at it. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and appreciated the simple moments that came with being near the water. Troy also had a deep love for God and carried a big heart. He was known to be a worrier at times and had a personality all his own, but underneath it all was someone who cared deeply for his family.

Troy is survived by his mother, Shirley Price, who cherished her son; his siblings Timothy Price, Curtis Price (Tammy), Mark Price (Vicki), and Shelby Switzer (Dirk); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will remember him in their own special ways.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Price, his brother, Kevin Price, and his sister-in-law, Charlene Price.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Cremation Services, and no services are planned at this time.

Troy will be remembered for his love of fishing, his ability to repair things others couldn’t, and the big heart he carried for those around him. His family asks that he be remembered in quiet moments and simple ways that reflect the life he lived.
