Tommie Jean (Patrick) Edwards

Tommie Jean Patrick Edwards, 82, of Westville, passed peacefully on Sunday April 14, 2024. She was born on October 8th, 1941, in Salyersville, Kentucky. She married Raymond "Putsy" Edwards on February 17, 1962. She leaves behind her daughter Teresa (Barry) Gossar, grandson Jeremy (Nicole) Zaayer, great-grandchildren Tinley, Jeane and Aston and a very special niece Henrietta Bradley. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Carl and Rebecca (King) Patrick, her sisters Katie Hampton, Lou Jordan, Sue Hackworth and Yvonne Osborne, and brothers Clarence Patrick and Bill Patrick. Tommie Jean was a diehard Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan. Her favorite pastime was watching her Wildcats or the Fighting Illini on TV. She enjoyed watching Jeremy play sports and never passed up a chance to beat the kids at Rummy. She adored Tinley and Aston and was the best Mamaw a kid could ask for. She had a 54 Mercury that was very special to her, as Putsy restored it to look just like the car she had when they started dating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Friday April 19, 2024 at South Side Church of Christ (611 Forrest St. Danville). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Vermillion County Animal Shelter Foundation or Westville Lions Club.
