Sheila Prueitt (née Burcks), age 65, passed away on December 6, 2025, in Georgetown, Illinois. Born on July 12, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri. Sheila lived a life marked by generosity, resilience, and an unwavering spirit. 

Sheila was the beloved mother of three children: Melissa (Danny) Burcks-Brewer, (KC) Kenneth Faraone, and Tiffany Prueitt. Her legacy continues through her 14 grandchildren and one great-grandson. She also leaves behind three siblings: Nora M. (Mike) Gragert, John E. (Pat) Burcks, and Rebecca J. (David) Harrell. 

Sheila was preceded in death by her father Kenneth G. Burcks, her mother Barbara B. (Stagner), 1 grandson, as well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and the love of her life, Carl D. Horner. 

Those who knew Sheila will remember her boundless compassion and selflessness. She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger—her warmth and kindness left lasting impressions on everyone she encountered. Always ready to lend a hand or share what little she had, Sheila would give the shirt off her back to someone in need without hesitation. No one around her ever went hungry; she made sure of that. 

Sheila embraced life with boldness and curiosity. She loved doing the unimaginable—pursuing adventures that others might shy away from—and delighted in sharing those stories with laughter and pride. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her legacy of kindness and courage continue to inspire those she touched.
