We are sad to announce the passing of Seth Cornwell, 39, of Georgetown, Illinois, he passed away peacefully at 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025. He was born in Danville on January 28th, 1986, on the same day as the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster and the same year as the Superbowl Champion Chicago Bears, his favorite NFL team.
Seth was born to Margo and Gary Cornwell. Siblings - Brothers - Reece (Jana) Cornwell, Kori (Shelly) Bower, Bryce Carson (Tasha), Sister- Keelee, (Rob) Stalcup, Nephews- Hayden (Laura) Williams, Bryson Carson, Braxton (Lizzie) Carson, Nieces - Chloe (Sam) McDowell, great nieces - Addlynn Williams, Margot McDowell.
Seth was a friend to many, a stranger to none. He was loved dearly by his family. He loved spending time with his mother Margo and fishing with his brother Reece. Some of their best memories were fishing at Georgetown Dam, Fairmount Quarries and Mill Creek. Seth's main goal was to catch a bigger fish than his brother and occasionally he did. Seth was also a big help throughout the years to his sister, Keelee with many projects.
Seth loved his Vermilion Valley Vineyard (V3) Church family. The Tuesday men's group with Pastor Jay Sorrell and Scott Covington, gave him hope and a place to belong when he was active in the church. All of them are loved by the family for their friendship.
Please direct all donations to the Vermilion Valley Vineyard (V3) Church, 3733 Poolside Drive Danville, Illinois 61832.
A celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday March 15th, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the Vermilion Valley Vineyard following church service. This will be an opportunity to worship and have fellowship with the family.
Seth loved everyone, he wanted to spend his last days with family giving and getting lots of love and hugs. He got his wish.
