Seth Ryan Blacketer, 33, of Georgetown, IL, passed away on June 4, 2023. He was born on January 16,
1990, in Danville, IL to Brian and Sheila Blacketer. Seth graduated from Georgetown Ridge Farm High
School. He then graduated from ITT Technical Institute with a degree in Computer-Aided
Design/Drafting.
Seth worked for Painters USA as an estimator. He was known for his exceptional work ethic and
dedication to his job. His colleagues admired him for his attention to detail and his ability to get the job
done right.
Seth was passionate about coaching youth baseball and spent countless hours teaching not only his
children but also many children in the community. He started a travel baseball team that he was very
proud of called the "VC Warriors". His coaching skills were exceptional, and he had the ability to bring
out the best in every child he coached. Seth also enjoyed camping, fishing, and mushroom hunting with
his family and friends.
Seth is survived by his parents, Brian (Annemarie) Blacketer and Sheila Blacketer (Brian Babb), his
children Jase and Allison Blacketer, their mother Michelle Waddell, siblings Katie (Darren) Young,
Courtney Blacketer, Laci Ransom, Brooke Ransom, and Ethan Blacketer, Grandmother Heidi Farrell.
Aunts and uncles Gary (Diane) Blacketer, Colleen (Mark) Wright, Gloria McGowen, Angela (Frank)
Dailey, Sam Dudley, Frank (Tammy) Dudley, nieces and nephews Richard Blacketer (Fulfer), Major
Martinez, Kataleya Blacketer, Dylan Blacketer, Richard Morganson, Olivia Young, Addison Young, Ava
Young, Scarlet Young and many cousins.
Seth was preceded in death by his grandparents Courtney and Anna Blacketer, John and Jacqueline
Dudley, Dale Farrell and close friend Dan Hoskins.
Seth was an organ & tissue donor and we would like to thank the Gift of Hope organization for the care &
support that they provided our family during our time of need.
We would like to thank Seth's baseball family for all the support they provided Seth and are providing our
family now.
We would also like to thank the First Church of Christ and Neil Roach in particular for their support.
A memorial service will be held at the First Church of Christ, 503 N Main St, Georgetown, IL 61846.
Services will be held on Saturday June 24th, visitation will be from 2-4 pm, with the service immediately following.
