Sandra Jean Slade Swain, 84, of Champaign, passed into Heaven on November 27th, 2025. Sandy was born on February 13th, 1941, at Burnham Hospital to Artie and Dorothy (White) Slade. She attended Central High School in Champaign. She was married to Paul Thompson for 17 years and later to Sheldon Swain. He proceeded her in death. She is survived by her children, Deb (Joe) Johansen and William Thompson. Grandchildren, April (Michael) Downen, Jessi (Becca) Jones, Jeremy (Bri) Jones, Joshua (Stephanie) Jones, Cody (Kassie) Foster and 9 great grandchildren. Brothers, Bob (Suzanne) Slade and Larry (Carol) Slade. Numerous nieces and nephews who loved and adored her. Sandy was proceeded in death by her sister Ethel and brothers Dick, Tom and David.

Sandy lived in Arizona for 41 years and made many friends. She spoke often of the beauty. She loved taking care of people and never met a stranger. Sandy loved to play the slots, read, watch crime drams and westerns. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Thank you to Carle Hospice and her care givers at Accolade in Savoy where she was loved They all called her a spitfire and loved her spunk. A special thank you to Jani for all of the help, love and advice.
