Robert (Jim) James Watson III, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Saturday, October 5, 2024. He had recently celebrated his 75th birthday in July.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Rose, to whom he was married for 54 years, as well as his three children: Robert (RJ) James Watson III [Vicki], Larry Watson [Amy], and Cinnamon Gouty [Colt]. He is also remembered by his 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He’s proceeded in death by Mother, Olive, and Father, Robert James Watson as well as his sisters Shelia and Sue and granddaughter Makayla. He passed along side his cherished dog, Suzzie, whom was his faithful companion for over 15 years.
Throughout his life, Jim found joy in the simple things. He enjoyed a good round of golf and loved taking his friends out for lunch, chatting about everything and nothing. He was always engaged with his community, attending local events, parades, and taking an active interest in local politics. He never shied away from a hard day's work whether it be laying carpet, tinkering away in his garage, or helping out a friend.
He also had a deep love for Indiana Beach, which he affectionately called ‘the beach,’ motorcycles, Florida, and the timeless music of The Beatles and similar genres—passions that brought him joy throughout his life.
Jim will be remembered for his unique charm, his offbeat sense of humor, his can-do attitude, and the way he could turn any moment into an adventure. His friends and family will miss his quirky outlook on life and the lighthearted spirit he brought to every conversation.
