Robert (Bob) Lawrence Bolton, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 16, 2024 at the age of 84. He was born on June 11, 1939, in Danville, Illinois, to Robert and Helen L Gritton (Hart) Bolton.
Robert graduated from Bismarck High School and went on to graduate from General Motors Institute. He retired from General Motors - Central Foundry after 38 years then worked at Sears Auto Center. He fully retired  in 1998 to follow his passion to travel.
Robert was married to Sharon (Engelman) Bolton and together they had three children, Robert Lawrence Bolton II, Glen Lee Bolton, and Monica Lynn Bolton. Later in life, he married Rosemary (Greer) Bolton and welcomed four children into his family, Tad Beddow, Nick Beddow, Penny Beddow, and Paige (Beddow) Hurt (Jeff Butz).
Robert was a devoted grandfather to Jordan Bolton, Lauren (John) Axelsen, Cole (Ashleigh) Bolton, Reid and Hannah Hunter, Dalton Beddow, Kaleb and Kendyl Hurt. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Cameron Telendyl and Levi Axelsen.
Robert is also survived by his sister, Betty (Myron) Cowell and their children. Robert was preceeded in death by his parents. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Per Robert’s  final wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no memorial services.
