Richard E. Laird

Richard E. Laird, 61, died unexpectedly due to health complications on January 9th 2022 at OSF Hospital surrounded by his family in Danville IL. He was born on April 2nd 1960 in Danville IL, the son of Gene and Peggy (Maiden) Laird.

Rick graduated from Westville Highschool, Class of 1978. Shortly after he married the love of his life Brenda (Mikel) Laird in 1982. They were to celebrate 40 years of marriage on Valentine’s Day this year. Rick was a registered plumber for 29 years, he retired as a plumber at District 118 in 2014. During retirement, Rick was a loyal member of the Westville Sportsman’s Club. Rick had many hobbies, he loved to trap shoot at the club, go fishing, camping, boating, hunting, golfing, and bowling.

He was predeceased by his parents Gene Laird and Peggy (Maiden) Laird. Surviving in addition to his wife Brenda (Mikel) Laird, are his 1st born son Anthony Laird and his wife Tiffany Laird, his 2nd born Jeremy Laird, and his daughters by choice, Amber Hahn and her husband Derrick Hahn, Kylee Turner and her husband Dillon Turner, his 6 grandchildren, Dylan Laird, Elizabeth Laird, Jaxon Laird, Brayden Laird, Alivia Laird, Lauren Laird, additional grandchildren, Allie Frischkorn, Rylie Hahn, and Delanee Turner.

A service of remembrance will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday January 14th 2022 at the Second Church of Christ, 3350 E Vorhees St. Danville IL, 61834.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville IL. Arrangements by Watson Cremation & Funeral Services, 1511 Greenwood Cemetery Road Danville IL 61832.
