Randall W. (Randy) Jackson passed peacefully at home on March 19th, 2025.

He was born on December 22nd, 1953 to Roy "Frank" Jackson and Donna Richardson Jackson in Danville, IL. They quickly broke the mold because Randall W. was one of a kind. 

He married his Bride, Kim Lamar Jackson on November 7th, 1981 in Georgetown, IL. Together they raised Kristeen "Niki" Jackson of North Port, FL and Jacob (Magdalena Casper-Shipp) Jackson of Catlin, IL. Along with step-daughter Elizabeth (Terry) Cooley of Mahomet, and bonus son, Mark Peterson of Indiana. 

Also surviving are his grandchildren, Taylor (James) Nugent, Lane (Maria) Oakes, Auburn Maple, Lillian and Gracie Cooley and Henry and Clara Jackson. Great grandchildren, Destiny, Ayden, Greyson, Emersyn Nugent, Arianna Cooley, Nova and Cora Oakes. 

Randy also leaves behind his brothers. Mark (Cindy) Jackson, Gary (Kathy) Jackson, sister Laura Guthrie and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Donna, his brother Dennis Jackson, grandson Reece Adams and best friend Steve Cook. 

He was a retired millwright at General Motors. Not content with retirement,  he started driving a gas truck for his Dad. After that he worked a variety of jobs, including mowing ditches for the county to stay out of his Brides hair when she retired. 

Randall W. liked cold beer, fishing, John Wayne and the St. Louis Cardinals.  Although he was happy when Jacob's beloved Cubs finally won the World Series. 

Randall W. loved being Papaw more than anything. He was always available for a gator ride, fishing trip, or a trip to the store for circus peanuts. 

We know he's sitting with Cook by a pond with a cooler full of Natural. Mushroom season won't be the same without him. 

Per his wishes, he will be cremated with no services. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to OSF Cancer Center in Danville or The American Heart Association.
