Michael Robert Carter

Michael Robert Carter, 69, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023.

Michael was born June 21, 1953, to Robert E. and Darlene M. Carter in Lafayette, Indiana.

He is survived by his mother, Darlene of Danville, his son Chad (Sally) Carter of St. Joseph, his siblings Larry (Barb) Carter of Westville, Steve Carter of Pontiac, Linda (Todd) Spicer of Danville, his nieces and nephews, Ashley (Lance) Wichtowski, Andrea (Lukas) Walker, Allie (Zeb) Fitzwater all of Westville, Jesse Carter of Pontiac, Kendall (Hannah) Spicer of Terre Haute, Abby Spicer of Champaign and his grandchildren, Liam & Avery Carter of St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Carter.

Michael was retired from Ball Corporation in which he spent 25 years.  Mike had many great friendships in his time at Ball/US Can.  After work Mike enjoyed the good company and a cold beer served at several of the local taverns.  Mike was a staunch Republican and avid supporter of the 2nd Amendment.  In his younger days, he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.  Mike enjoyed watching sports, but his favorite teams were always the teams his grandchildren, Liam & Avery, were on.  Above all, he was a proud grandfather.  Mike was a loyal friend to many and will be greatly missed by all.
