Mary Ellen Morrison 68, of Georgetown, IL passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, at Momence Meadows Nursing Home in Momence, IL.  Mary was born on October 11, 1956, to Robert (Bob) E. Morrison and Joyce (Joy) Cravens Morrison in Danville, IL. She was raised in Georgetown, graduated from Georgetown High School in 1974, and lived most of her adult life in Georgetown. 

After high school, Mary worked at various nursing homes as a nurse's aid, and as a waitress at the old Skelly's Truck Shop in Oakwood. She was then employed at K-Mart in Danville where she was a dedicated worker in the sporting goods and automotive departments. After almost 20 years, she retired as a merchandise department manager. Mary was the youngest of three children in the family. Being the only girl, she was often teased by her older brothers, Robert (Bob) K. and Jack. Mary enjoyed bowling and going to the Georgetown American Legion with her mom and brother Bob where they played pool and solved the world's problems over a couple of beers. Mary always had a cat or dog as a pet in her home and treated them like family. She had a big heart and was very loyal to her good friends and family. Her memory was uncanny in recalling dates for birthdays and anniversaries. If you want to know any of these dates for her family or close friends friends, just ask Mary. 

Mary is survived by her brother Jack (Gail) Morrison, Georgetown; niece Ashley (Patrick) Santel of Westfield, IN; niece Karina Morrison, Bremerton, WA; great niece Poppy Santel; and her brother Bob's children, Tamara and Eric and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bob, many aunts and uncles and cousins, and her good friend Pat.

A graveside service will be held at Georgetown Cemetery on March 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Donations in Mary's memory may be made to the 1st United Methodist Church in Georgetown, of which she was a long time member, or the Vermilion County Humane Society.
