Mary Ellen (Becker) Gocken

Mary Ellen Gocken, 82, of Ridge Farm passed away on October 13, 2021, at her home with her daughter at her side.  Mary Ellen was born on October 10, 1939, to John and Betty (Smitley) Becker.  The both preceded her.  She was also preceded by her husband, Daniel; her daughter, Charlotte; and her son, John.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Debra Donaldson (Billy); her nine grandchildren: Jacob (Shanna) Collom; Jessica (Michael) Rakes; Jaydan Hardy; John Michael (Kayla) Gocken; Dusti Gocken; Matthew Gocken; Alex Donaldson; Alyssa Donaldson; and Luke Donaldson; and her five great grandchildren: McKenna, Mason and Mya Collom; Aubryanna and Aliya Parker.  Also surviving are her sisters: Pam (Jerry) Hawker; Kathi (Victor) Verstraete; and her brother Jerry (Catherine) Becker.  She will also be missed by her neighbor and friend Linda Cook, who took such special care of her in her final days. 

Mary Ellen had a big heart and was the kindest soul you could ever know.  Her family meant the world to her and was always her first priority. She will be sadly missed by anyone who knew her but always remembered with a kind word and a smile.

A private family celebration of Mary Ellen’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Carle Hospice.

The family has entrusted Watson Cremation and Funeral Services to assist with arrangements.
