Marion David Ballard 96, of Danville, Il passed away on Thursday, Sept.19,2024 at Goldwater Care in Danville. Marion was born in Columbia, Utah, Jan. 31, 1928, to Burgess F. and Manda L. (Ryder) Ballard. Marion lived most of his life in Danville, where he was near to his family. Marion worked as a 3rd shift janitor for Steak n Shake for 26 years. After retiring he worked as a courier for area banks. Marion was best known by his family as “Uncle.” Uncle was a simple man. He was a very much-loved man by his family and friends. Uncle loved playing the slots and scratching off lottery tickets. He loved going out for breakfast whenever he could. Uncle loved children. He probably babysat at one time or another for most of his nieces and nephews, including his greats. Marion was preceded in death by his parents, His sister Beulah (Frank)Cottrill; their son Donald Cottrill, his brother John (Edna) Ballard and their infant daughter Cindy Lou. Survivors include nieces Patricia Foster and her daughters Linda (Timothy) and Laura and their families, Nancy Berry and her sons Jim and Jeff. Robin (Bob) Turner and their sons Tyler and Travis; Nephew John (Stacie) Ballard and their children Jordan (Patty) and Alexis (Mary Liz). Several Great-Great nieces and nephews survive him as well. He is also survived by Barbara Cottrill and her family Carolyn (Corey) Brooks and family; Russell and Alan Cottrill.
