Lori "George" Roberts Obituary

Lori "George" Engelmann Roberts, 62, passed away peacefully at her home surrounding by her loving family on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, after a valiant fight against cancer. She was born on June 7, 1959, in Danville, IL, the daughter of John and Patricia Engelmann. They precede her in death. Also, preceding Lori in death was her brother; Gregory Engelmann and sisters; Crystal Starns and Joni Kay Engelmann.

Lori was blessed to meet and fall in love with Christopher Roberts. They were married on October 7, 2014, and shared wonderful years together. Chris survives and will miss her dearly.

Lori leaves behind her stepdaughter, Kelsey (Drew) Boring and step-granddaughter Paislee, along with her three sisters; Cheryl Bayles, Rene Engelmann, and Leah Engelmann; one brother in-law; Jed Starns, two sister-in-laws; Pamela Williams and Christina (Kevin) Bailey-Kupcik; her best friend since grade school; Sarah Louise Hamilton, along with many special nieces and nephews.

Lori was a graduate of Oakwood High School and then entered the workforce. Throughout her years she worked at Sunbeam Bread Store, Victory Beauty Supply, and lastly, AutoZone Distribution Center.

Lori was an accomplished painter and created beautiful pieces of art. She was also known for being an amazing cook. In the spring, Lori could be found tromping through the woods for mushrooms or grabbing a fishing pole to relax on the water. During the winter she enjoyed piling up on the couch with a good book and her ever present can of Diet Pepsi.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Carle Hospice for their compassion and support.

Per Lori's wishes she will be cremated with a memorial planned for this spring. She will be missed by her many friends and family. The family has entrusted Watson Cremation & Funeral Services in Danville to assist with arrangements. Online condolences @ www.watsoncremationservices.com
