Obituary

Larry L. Cravens, 78, passed away peacefully at 9:25 am on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 in Danville IL.
He was born on September 11, 1944 in Morgantown, West Virginia to Royce and Thelma (Cremeens)
Cravens. He is survived by his sister, Carrol Jean Lewis of Placerville CA, two daughters, Staci (Jeff)
Vecellio of Westville, Amy Payne of Ridge Farm and four grandchildren, Ciera Davis of Tilton, Alex
Vecellio of Terre Haute IN, Tyler Payne of Danville and Kaylynn Payne of Ridge Farm. He was proceeded
in death by his parents.
He went to school in Scottsburg, Indiana before moving to Georgetown, IL where he graduated from
Georgetown High School in 1962. He enlisted in the Navy on November 25, 1962. He was honorably
discharged in 1967. He was a member of American Legion, Post 203, Eastern Illinois Shrine Club and
Russell Masonic Lodge. Larry was an electrician by trade and worked in several factories and as a self-
employed contractor. He was an avid fan of any type of racing and also liked watching the Dallas
Cowboys and the Fighting Illini sports teams. He liked hanging out with his dog, Lulu and telling stories
with his family and friends.
