Kenneth Patty Obituary

Kenneth Eugene Patty

August 25, 1958 to April 17, 2024

Kenneth Eugene Patty, Don't call him Kenneth and do not say Eugene! The great and powerful Kenny Oz was raised in Morrisonville, IL by Bill and Freida Skinner. The good Lord forgot to football kicked that mold the day he was born because his youngest son Nick was made of that same asshole mold. Don't fret friends! The Lord realized what was happening and booted the mold after that! When met the love of his life, Diane Lape, he married her 6 months later. Kenny married Diane on January 4, 1981. He became a father to Timothy Mason on that day in January. Kenny and Diane were blessed with two more stubborn boys. Bo and Nick were the thorn in Kenny's side, the toe stub on the corner of that armless couch (you all know), those boys were his pride and joy. His daughter in law Kole (me) was given the honor of writing these words to remember this stubborn man that I loved so much. This has been so hard!! When I met Nick 22 years ago Kenny was this huge gruff dude! He thought he was hilarious which led to a LOT of dad jokes! He was so strong and tall. Kenny had a few things in life that he truly lived for. Diane, always Diane, he loved that woman so damn much! Dedicated to making her life easier. I've seen love but the love that man had for that woman goes beyond most! He also dedicated his life to his kids and later his grand kids, tater chips, and he lived to tell those lame ol dad jokes! We can all pinpoint the exact moment that Kenny started being at a loss for what to do in life. The day he was told he could no longer work at the Hog Farm. He had worked there for nineteen and a half years. He loved the Hog Farm so much and his lungs let him down. Kenny worked, that's what he was born to do, be a provider! Conway Twitty said it best  "That's my job, that's what I do, everything I do is because of you, to keep you safe with me, that's my job you see". He took care of his own and some that wasn't his. He was a fighter, I've heard stories from everyone that knew him and even some stories told by himself. Remember that dude that ran them off the road? Kenny followed him and punched him through the guys screen door! Don't endanger Kenny's family! There was only one person that could put him in his place, Diane. He fought so damn hard to stay with us. Cancer multiple times, COPD, he even got skin cancer removed from his big ol honker! He fought until all of his grandbabies were almost grown! Ry is the baby and has had 12 years with Papaw Kenny! I am proud to have been his daughter in-law. I told him every chance I could that I was so proud of the man he raised to be my husband. How Nick loves his kids so much and he gets everything from Kenny! His boys love their kids like he loved them. The world lost one of the best husband, dad, papaw, and dad joke teller I've known! Thanks Kenny for raising the love of my life the way that you did and I'm proud to be one of your kids! I love you Fat Man!!!! We will take care of the Old Broad and you know it!!! Now back to our regularly scheduled programming, the obituary. Kenny touched so many people. He made everyone an honorary family member. Not always by birth but by choice! Kenny's love was like a fart. Warm and loud but sometimes silent and you knew he loved you! Kenny is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diane. Sons Timothy Mason, Kenneth "Bo" Patty, and Nick (Kole) Patty. Grandchildren, Dalton Duncan, T.J. and Kylea Mason, Eden Patty, Dexter and Ryker Patty. A great granddaughter, Royalty. Kenny is also survived by sisters, Kathy (Tony) Pritchard, Karen (Larry) Limauge,  3 sisters and a brother. Also survived by brothers, Kevin (Anne) Skinner, Jim Lape, and Dave (Jane) Hicks. Proceeded in death by parents Bill and Freida Skinner, brothers Charlie Patty, and Jim Mason, a sister Joyce Patty, and niece Nikki Camou. If you knew Kenny you knew he was a good one! This world won't be the same without him.
