Kenneth “Kenny” Knight, 66, of Danville, IL, passed unexpectedly on February 11, 2025.
Kenny was born on August 6, 1958, in Jasper, IN the son of Larry and Shirley (Seitz)
Thompson. He married Tamara Dee Nasser on November 26, 1982, she survives.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Thompson of Spencer, IN his wife Dee Knight of Danville,
IL his children Joey (Nicole) Knight of Ridge Farm, IL, Tiffany (John) Hile of Danville, IL and
Lindsay (Ryan) Knight also of Danville. Seven grandchildren Kamden, Kade, Kole, Kenzie,
Kaleb, Kolten and Kolin. Kenny is also survived by his siblings Tom Thompson, Debra Hibbert,
Larry Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Laura Thoms and Lola Abbitt all of Indiana, Vickie Mowery,
Pam (Rex) Laker, Rick (Julie) Nasser, Randy (Ana) Nasser and Catherine (Ty) Welsch all of
Danville, and several nieces and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father Larry Thompson, father-in-law Richard Nasser,
mother- in-law Evelyn Nasser and one brother-in-law Eric Mowery.
Kenny attended Chrisman High School in Chrisman, IL. He was employed at Dines Machine
and by the City of Danville.
When Kenny wasn’t in the garage fixing lawn mowers and whatever else Kaleb brought to him,
he was Lieutenant and Mr. Fix-it at Lynch Area Fire Protection District where he was the
recipient of Gary Dines award for five years. When he wasn’t at the fire station where he was
“Papa” to everyone, he loved spending time with his family and most importantly with his
grandchildren, we will all miss him dearly.

Per Kenny’s wishes cremation is taking place at Watson Cremation & Funeral Services.
Visitation taking place 1pm-2:30pm Friday February 21, 2025, at Second Church of Christ, 3350
E. Voorhees St, Danville, IL with Memorial Service immediately following from 2:30pm-3pm.
