Kathleen Bridget (O'Connell) Flynn

Kathleen Bridget (O’Connell) Flynn, 83, of Danville, Il passed away peacefully Thursday, November 28, 2024 at HSHS St John’s Hospital in Springfield, Il with her two daughters by her side.

Kathleen was born February 5, 1941 in Danville, Il to Frank and Loretto (Carey) O’Connell. She attended St Patrick’s Grade School and graduated in 1959 from Schlarman High School.

She married James M. Hawkins in 1962 in Danville, Il where she lived and raised her daughters. Later in life she married Donald J. Flynn who proceeded her in death.

Kathleen was an adventurous, hardworking and generous soul who followed her heart and two daughters to California in 1986. She quickly found her niche in property management and later established and owned a successful property management company in San Clemente, CA. She loved to travel and garden, especially at her beloved home in San Juan Capistrano, CA and later at her homes in North Carolina and Danville.

She is survived by her children Kate (Jeff) Harvey of Livonia, NY; Janie Hoffman (Andy Hughes) of San Diego, CA; and Mark O’Connell of Hixson, TN; a brother Patrick (Clyda) O’Connell of Springfield, Il; and a sister Maureen O’Connell of Danville, Il.

A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, December 4th at 2:00 pm (Central Time) at Holy Family Catholic Church at 444 E Main St., Danville, Il with a celebration of life immediately following at Jocko’s.
