Julia Ann Peplow (Nipper), known and loved by many as “Julie,” was born on January 2, 1962, at Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Danville, Illinois and Danville remained home in the truest sense throughout her life. On January 15, 2026, Julie passed away at the age of 64, leaving behind a family who will carry her love, her quirks, and her unmistakable spirit forward.
Julie had a way of finding comfort and joy in the little things and she was loyal to them, too. For the last several years, if you walked into the room, there was a good chance you’d find Prison Break on the screen. She loved music, adored dogs and cats, and had an eye for anything that sparkled, especially jewelry. In fact, she didn’t just wear it; she made jewelry, putting her creativity into pieces that carried her personal touch. And if you knew Julie well, you probably remember something else she took very seriously, fuzzy socks.
Julie will be deeply missed by her children, James and Marisa Peplow, and Brittney and Jason Gerling; and by her grandsons, Caiden (Amy Bohlen) Gerling and Bryson Gerling as well as various granddogs. She is also survived by her brothers, John Nipper and Randy Nipper. Julie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sharon Nipper.
There will be no formal service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and details will be shared on Julie’s Facebook once arrangements are finalized.
