John A Adkisson

Adkisson, John A., 68, of Georgetown, IL went to be with the Lord June 26, 2021 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana, IL. He was born August 31, 1952 in Conway, Arkansas to Donnie and Marvelle (Cox) Adkisson.

He was preceded in death by his father Donnie Adkisson of Georgetown, IL; his brother David Adkisson of Georgetown, IL; his brother-in-law Jerry Hill of Hillsdale, In.

He is survived by his mother Marvelle Adkisson of Georgetown, IL; his daughter Dawn Young (Jamie) of Lakeland, FL.; his grandsons Austin and Kyle Young of Lakeland, FL.; his brother Donnie "Wayne" (Julie) Adkisson; Sister Sherry (David) Skaggs of McAlester OK.; Sister Judy Hill of Hillsdale, IN.

John loved being with his family and friends. He was the first phone call many would make when in need. He enjoyed fast cars, fishing, camping, playing on the poker machines, rock music, trivia and was an avid reader.  There was no problem that he couldn't solve or anything he couldn't repair one way or another. John will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.

The visitation will be held on July 1, 2021 at 10 am at the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene, 715 N. Main Street, Georgetown, IL. The services will immediately follow at 11am, followed by graveside services at Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, IL. The family has entrusted Watson Cremation & Funeral Services in Danville to assist with arrangements.
