Janet Louise (Hicks) Morgan

Janet L Morgan of Oakwood, born to Jean and Carl Hicks of Danville on March 16th, 1948, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 21st, 2021, at Carle hospital. Her sons Jim and David were at her bedside as well as her daughter in law Sandy Morgan.

Janet married her love James Morgan on September 25th, 1965. They had three wonderful sons Jim (Amey) Morgan, Joe (Tawnya) Morgan, and David (Sandy) Morgan.

In her younger years, Janet was a CNA, she also worked for Clem the Cleaner and Hills Department Store.  She then, spent the rest of her working years at Yudin & Associates where she retired after 23 years as Site Manager.

Janet met a lot of people along her years and made some exceptionally great friends. She and her grade school friend Shula Struckmann, at 10 years old promised each other when they died “we will have a smile on our face and be thinking of each other” they were real philosophers in 1958!

Then there was Sue Bloomfield, she has been there by her side for many years. Taking her to stores, going out to eat, going swimming at the Y, going for long drives through Kickapoo, going to church and just about everywhere. Sue was a very good friend to her.

And Jeannie Ritter, they competed and everything red as much as they could. Furniture, dishes, cooking utensils, cooking apparatuses, and clothes down to shoes to mention a few . They had several stories to share and love to go to lunch, they have been friends for many years.

Janet had such a huge heart and loved every critter she could ever encounter. She also had to look her best and wear the best purses and shoes to match. She completely enjoyed her time with family and friends.

She loved her Lord and Savior and had been a lifelong member of Bowman Ave Methodist Church for 73 years, where she was baptized as well as married.

Janet was preceded in death by her mom and dad Jean and Carl Hicks, her middle son Joe and a great granddaughter Maizy Olivia, also her brother Larry Hicks and several other family and friends.

Janet has seven grandchildren, Regina (David) Sprouls, Michael and Joseph Morgan, Michael (Kasey Roark) Puckett, Destinee, Courtney and Wyatt Morgan.

She also has two great grandkids Monroe Olivia Morgan and David Lee Sprouls II and Delilah Dianne Morgan on the way in October.

Janet, our mom, our grandma our friend, she will be missed. The family has entrusted Watson Cremation & Funeral Services in Danville to assist with arrangements.
