James Ray (Bo) Barnes 12/27/1954 - 10/27/2022

James Barnes Passed away at Carle Hospital on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 2:29 am. He was born in Danville, IL. He graduated from high school in 1973 from Danville High School. He got married to Jamie Lynn (Bodart) Barnes on 12/31/1977, they were married for 44 years. He was a correctional officer at Danville correctional facility from 1985-2010. He was a volunteer firefighter in Georgetown from 1996-2011. He loved to go to church, travel, and do Martial Arts. He was the Decan and elder at his church.

 He is preceded in death by His mother Juanita Sue (Carl) Barnes and Father James Wallace Barnes, and Sisters-in-laws Janice Lee (Bodart) Mosier & Carolyn Sue (Manning) Friedman. He is survived by his wife Jamie Lynn (Bodart) Barnes of Ridge farm, IL, Daughters; Jennifer Lynn (Chad) Key of Ridge farm, Jessica Rene’ Barnes-Rone of Paris, IL, Judith Layne (Kyle) Alexander of Chrisman, IL, Grandchildren; Kursten Carliegh Barnes of Ridge farm, IL, Mikaila (Dylan) Bogard of Clarksville, TN, Sydney Sky Key of Greenville, IL, Alexis Jayd (Jared) Vandevanter of Fort hood, TX, Ethan James Key of Ridge farm, IL, Jaidyn Rae Alexander of Chrisman, IL, Arabella Lynn Barnes of Ridge farm, IL, Asher Austin Alexander of Chrisman, IL, Great Grandchild; Patrick Donovan James Bogard of Clarksville, TN, Brothers; Carl Lynn (Debbie) Barnes of Catlin, IL, Carl H. (Pete) Manning of Petersburg, FL, Sisters; Vicky Sue(Shukri) Almahrous of Mubarak Abdullah, Kuwait, Kelly Elaine (Joe) Ingalsbe of Indianola, IL, sister-in-law Gina Manning of Danville, IL, and brother-in-law Robert Wayne Mosier of Indianola, IL.

He will deeply be missed by special friends Karla and Darell Starwalt and Ed and Sherry Shirley. A special thank you to Denise Cole for helping him fulfill his bucket list. A special request to his son-in-law Kyle, “All the girls are yours to take care of now.”

 Visitation and funeral will be held at Central Park Church of Christ 1735 S. Washington St. Tilton, IL 61833 on Saturday 2-4 o’clock visitation 4 o’clock funeral, officiated by Raymie Gordon.
