James Dukes

James "Jim" William Dukes, 70, of Georgetown passed away at 4:28 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in Danville, IL.

Jim was born on February 11, 1953, the son of Don E and Maysie (Donaldson) Dukes in Danville IL.

He is survived by three children, Ian James Dukes, Anneca (Dillon) Fagg and Gage (Lynn) Thoma, eight grandchildren, Nathaniel, Macey, Ian Jr, James and Dalton Dukes, Windsor Fagg, Fletcher and Quincy Thoma, two great grandchildren, Saylor Dukes and AdaLynn Creamer one sister Donna (Dale) Brooks and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jeff Dukes and a good friend Jay "Stu" Thornton.

Jim graduated from Georgetown High School in 1971 then spent many years working in and owning several IGA stores in the area. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox fan and also enjoyed mushroom hunting and hangin out with friends.

A celebration of life service will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday April 23rd, 2023 at the Edgewood Center at Forest Glen in Westville, IL. to reminisce about Jim. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday April 23rd, 2023 th the Georgetown Cemetery. Feel free to wear your Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox or whatever your favorite sports team is in Jim's honor.
