Jacqueline K. Mills, a radiant soul whose light shone brightly for 66 precious years, peacefully departed from this world on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at The Waters of Covington in Covington, Indiana. Her journey through life was marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and an inspiring devotion to her Lord and her family. Born on November 6, 1958, to Gilbert L. Mills and Donna K. Cook (Hughes), both from Havana, Jacqueline’s heart was rooted in faith and compassion from the very beginning. Though she was called home, she was preceded in death by her father Gilbert L. Mills, her mother Donna K. Cook (Hughes), her brother, John J. Mills, and her beloved granddaughters, MacKenzie Byrd and Allison Pierson, who were forever etched in her heart. Survivors also include 1 brother and 4 sisters that she loved deeply.

Her spirit lives on through her beloved children, Steven Pierson of Byron Georgia, and Melissa K. Byrd (Brandon) of Mahomet, Illinois, along with five precious grandchildren who were her greatest joy. Jackie’s love for the Lord was a beacon of hope, a shining example of devotion and faith that inspired everyone around her. Her life on John Street was a testament to her extraordinary love — she led five souls to Christ, a living manifestation of her unwavering dedication to sharing God's love.

The words are true — live in such a way that those who knew you, but didn’t yet know God, are drawn into His embrace because of the love reflected through you. Jackie loved fiercely, with her entire heart — her children and her faith intertwined, guiding her every step. She never wavered in her trust in the Lord, and through her unwavering faith, she touched lives, bringing three more souls to Christ while she was  at The Waters.

Now, as we gather to celebrate the incredible life of Jackie Mills, let us remember her radiant spirit, her unshakable faith, and the love that transformed everyone she met. Please join us in honoring her on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church, 402 S Elm St, Mahomet, Illinois 61853. Let us cherish her memory and continue to carry the light she has ignited in each of us.
