Isaiah Dawson Obituary

Isaiah Dean Dawson, 67 of Georgetown, IL passed away on November 13, 2021 at OSF Medical Center.  He was born on December 5, 1953 to Isaiah Dawson and Jenny (Gay) Dawson in Danville, IL.  Dean married Diane Kozak on October 7, 1972 in Franklin, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, his daughter Jennie (Rich) Sollars,  his sons Dean (Kathy) Dawson, Jason (Elizabeth) Drown, His grandchildren Emma Sollars, Kourtney Dawson, Lynn Dawson, Cooper, Valerie, Krysta, JT, and Travis Drown.  His sisters Bonnie Dixon and Susan (Donald) Swearingen.  His sister in laws Joyce Rudd and Jeanne Kozak.  His brother in laws George (Charla) Kozak and Marvin Kozak.  His nieces and nephews.  His coffee buddy, Brad Hesler.

His parents, Isaiah and Jenny, in laws, George and Eugenia Kozak, brothers, Thomas McIntyre, Jack(Popeye) Dawson, his buddies Kenny Farrell and Greg Hesler  proceeded him in death.

He graduated from Georgetown High School in 1972.  He held various jobs thru out the years but his passion was in creating unique furniture from wood that he milled, old barns he tore down,  homes that would be demolished or re purposing/restoring old pieces he bought or were given to him.  He would answer the phone when his wife or daughter called saying “Dean's not so fine furniture”.  In reality it very much was fine.   The “cat whisperer” loved spoiling his kitties and hen, Gertrude.  As his granddaughters got older, he would slip them a twenty dollar bill to go shopping with and in return he would get giggles and a thank you.  He was proud of his children and the lives they created.  He enjoyed sitting on the porch with his wife having coffee, talking about life, brainstorming their next project and recently humming old hymns for Diane to guess what they were.  He was a simple man that loved to help people, telling stories to anyone that would listen, and just soaking up the life they created.  He was very proud of their dream coming to life, Pine Ridge Studio.

Per his wishes he will be cremated that is being entrusted with Watson Cremation and Funeral Services.  A memorial will be held on November 20, 2021 at their home, 20847 E. 900 North Road,
