Frances Carol (Cottrell) Brant Obituary

FRANCES CAROL COTTRELL WADDELL BRANT

11/25/1941 - 6/20/24

Frances Carol Cottrell Waddell Brant, affectionately know as Frannie, passed away on June 20, 2024, in her hometown of Tilton, Illinois.  Born in Danville to Margie and Francis "Muggs" Cottrell on November 25, 1941, she was a beacon of light and warmth in the community she dearly loved.

Frannie was a retired postal carrier, where she was revered for her work ethic and passion.  Her yard was her pride and joy; she loved watching the flowers bloom; and her famous cheesecake was the highlight of family gatherings.

Frannie's love extended to her five children, Thomas (Beth) Waddell, Lisa (David) Split-Log, Gay Lynn (Ben) Gabbard, Mark (Cindy) Brant, and Michael (Gretchen) Brant, who remember her as a nurturing soul, always ready with a comforting word.  Her eleven grandchildren, Amy, Tommy, Michael, Cori, David, Michelle, Jessie, Valerie, Andrew, Elyas and Elise, will carry on her legacy of kindness.

Predeceased by her parents, her sister Connie, and two sons Thomas and Mark, Frannie's memory will be cherished and kept alive by her children, grandchildren, and brothers Terry (Connie) and Mark (Cori).

Services to honor and celebrate the life of Frannie will be held at 10 a.m. on  July 7, 2024 at Greenwood Cemetery in Danville, IL. A gathering at Frannie's house will follow the burial.
