Douglas John “Doug” Pearcy, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born on May 19, 1955, in Charleston, IL and was the son of late John and Rosemary Pearcy.
Doug graduated from Charleston High School in 1973 and went on to have a successful career as a truck driver before retiring. However, his true passion lay in midget, Sprint car, and Silver Crown car racing. He spent countless years racing and traveling with his close racing buddies, finding immense joy and excitement in the sport.
Above all, Doug loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends, eagerly watching races and creating cherished memories. He was a loving father to his son, Jason Pearcy (Allison Walker), and adored his two grandchildren.
Doug is survived by his brothers, Gary Pearcy (Joyce) of Sunbright, TN, and Ron Pearcy (Tammy) of Charleston, IL. He also leaves behind his nephews; Troy, Derrick, Kyle, and Ryan Pearcy.
Doug’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His love for racing, warm spirit and kind-hearted nature will forever be remembered.
No funeral service will be held for Douglas per his request.
