Douglas Brumfield

Douglas Wayne Brumfield, 67, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2026, while receiving hospice care and surrounded by love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wayne Brumfield and Patricia Ann Felts.

Doug proudly served his community as a firefighter with the Catlin Fire Department for 28 years, dedicating his life to protecting others with courage, commitment, and heart. His service was more than a career—it was a calling, and one he carried with pride.

Above all else, Doug was a devoted father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his loving children, Angela Brumfield and Christian Brumfield; his cherished granddaughter, Alaya Robinson; and his siblings, Deb Brumfield, Daniel Brumfield, John Brumfield, and Denny Brumfield. Family meant everything to him, and his love and guidance will continue to live on through them.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the hospice nurses and care team whose compassion, kindness, and support meant so much during this difficult time. Their care brought comfort not only to Doug, but to our entire family.

Doug will be remembered for his strength, dedication to service, and the steady presence he was to those who knew and loved him. His legacy is one of selflessness, loyalty, and deep love for both his family and his community.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor on February 7, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 PM at the Catlin Fire Department, a place that meant so much to him. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Doug’s life. A small raffle and silent auction will take place quietly during the celebration.
