Donald Tabb Obituary

Donald “Donnie” Eugene Tabb went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2022, at the age of 88, after a long health battle.

Donnie was born to Walter and Mabel Tabb on May 16, 1934, in Lincoln, Illinois. He grew up and attended school in Atlanta, IL. He also attended Central Bible Institute. Donnie served in the U.S. Army and was a trained Army Medic.

Donnie met the love of his life and wife, Mary Jean Cutler, in 1959. They were married on July 9, 1960, and were blessed with two daughters, Tami Tabb Nave and Kimberly Tabb McCabe. He was also blessed with a grandson, Travis Nave and great granddaughters, Alexa, Caitlin, Riley and Morgan. Donnie and Mary Jean resided in Danville, IL, for 26 years where lifelong friends surrounded them around every corner. They were active in their church for many years prior to the illnesses. Donnie enjoyed golfing, hunting and gardening. He was a man of many talents, from beautiful oil paintings to carpentry.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband & father, Donnie worked for the U.S. Postal Service until retiring.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mabel, brothers William and Walter “Pete” and sister Kathryn. He joins many of his family and close friends in Heaven where there is bound to be a joyous reunion.

Donnie had an unwavering faith in Jesus, and his faith only grew stronger in his final years of life. Many remember him leading Sunday song services which were as special as he was. Donnie was loved by so many. His tender heart, deep loyalty and infectious belly laugh left an impression that will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
