Debra Mae (Doggett) Cope Obituary

Debra Mae Cope, 62, of Danville, Illinois passed away in her home on Friday May 10th, 2024. Debra was born July 11, 1961, in Danville, Illinois to Richard Doggett and Alberta (Gray) Doggett. Debra is survived by two sisters Lisa Vargas and Teresa Sanchez and one brother Patrick Doggett. Also surviving are her children Shawn Doggett, Melissa (Eric) Richards, Jeffery (Rebecca) Martin, Jaime Schlunaker, Dustin Schlunaker, and Tia (John) Walter along with 8 especially loved grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her special little ones Camille and Santino, as well as many close friends and family. Debra is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Alberta Doggett and her brother Richard Doggett, along with many other special family members she loved dearly.

Debra spent 11 years as a volunteer firefighter for State Line, Indiana. Debra loved working on her genealogy. In her spare time she loved writing poetry, doing crafts, sewing, making jewelry, and creating PicArt for her friends and family on Facebook. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren dearly. Debra was a very sociable woman and you were only a stranger to her one time after that, you were practically her family. Even though Debra didn’t have much to give, she would do what she could to give to those in need. Debra was loved by many and will be deeply missed. A memorial for Debra will be at a later date.
