Dale Edward Farrell, 75, of Metcalf, IL passed away on Wednesday, November 2nd at Pleasant Meadows Nursing Home.
Dale was born on July 27th, 1947, to Harold and Evelyn Farrell. Dale served in the Army during the Vietnam war, where he met his wife, Heidi. They married on November 26th, 1967, she survives.
Also surviving are his daughters, Angela (Frank) Dailey and Annemarie (Brian) Blacketer of Georgetown; grandchildren- Courtney Blacketer, Laci Ransom, Seth (Michelle) Blacketer, Kristin Dailey, Brooke Ransom, Ethan Blacketer, Steven Dailey; great-grandchildren- Richard Fulfer-Blacketer, Jaxon Dailey, Jase Blacketer, Katelaya Blacketer, Major Martinez, Dylan Blacketer, Allison Blacketer and baby Richard.
Dale was proceeded in death by his parents and his brothers Donald Farrell and Kenneth Farrell. Their sister Alverta Maskel also survives.
Dale attended Westville High School. Dale worked at Courtesy Ford for many years as a mechanic. Even after retirement, he was always fixing up someone’s vehicle. He enjoyed camping and fishing at Walnut Point and Lincoln Trails.
Dale didn’t know a stranger and always had a helping hand; he will be missed by many.
The family would like to thank those who helped take care of him at Pleasant Meadows during his stay.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 11th at Morey Chapel, from 12 to 1 and a memorial service following.
