Coy Cornett Sr.

Coy Cornett peacefully passed away at the age of 91, on July 1, 2023.  He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Lappin) Cornett, they were married in 1953, and their 4 children: Coy Cornett Jr of Tilton, IL, David (Deb) Cornett of Tilton, IL, Sherry (Robert) Singleton of Georgetown, IL,  Steve (Char) Cornett of Danville, IL.  Coy is also leaves behind 14 grandchildren: Coy L. (Jackie) Cornett, Lisa (Eric) Ritter, Allen (Renee) Cornett, Theresa Cornett, Brian Cornett, Melissa (Brandon) Pratt, Christy (Brent) Mehringer, Tracy (Joshua) Edwards, Rick Wagner, Myretta Fitzsimmons, Amanda (Rory) Overmyer, Jodie (Lawrence) Davis, Trisha Cornett, Stephanie(Brian) Bailey, and lots of wonderful great grandchildren and great-great children.

            Coy was preceded in death by his parents (Almon, Betty and Eliza).  His two brothers (Claude and Luther), and two sisters (Thelma and Bonnie).  His great-great grandson (Harlen).

Coy was born on December 28, 1931 in Harlan, KY.   Retired after 30 years from Hyster as an inspector.  He loved watching his favorite baseball team (Cardinals) and basketball teams (Kentucky and Illinois).  Loved to hunt with the boys and spending time with his family.  He loved to read and watch his Westerns, complete puzzles, and playing computer games.  Spent a lot of time outside working in his garden and driving around on the golf cart.
