Bruce T. Robinson, 88, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, in Danville, Illinois. He was born on May 3, 1937, in Galva, Illinois. While Galva was his hometown and where he spent much of his life, Bruce spent his later years in Danville, where he was lovingly cared for and surrounded by family.
On September 26, 1961, Bruce married Sandi (Noret) Robinson. Together they raised three children: Brian Robinson of the Philippines, Jim Robinson of Champaign, Illinois, and Amy Robinson of Danville, Illinois. Bruce was a proud and loving grandfather to Riley and Daniel Robinson.
He was the son of the late Elwyn “Butch” and Marjorie Robinson, and is also survived by his siblings: Peggy Grey (the late Rodger Grey), Chuck Robinson (Dee), and Beth Homandburg (Alan). He leaves behind two nephews, two nieces, and many extended family members and friends.
Bruce honorably served in both the U.S. Army and the National Guard. After his military service, he enjoyed a long career with the U.S. Postal Service and retired from the Galva Post Office.
An outdoorsman at heart, Bruce had a lifelong love of fishing and hunting. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of nature, and his deep devotion to family.
A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at a later date
